To the Staff and Volunteers of the VS Program
“As most of you know, this was not my first time at the domestic abuse shelter. I just wanted to write this to express my gratitude to each and every one of you not only for the roof over my head, but the time you all spent with me, listening to me, helping me, the referral to a local agency that ultimately lead to me finally getting a place I can call home. Since I have been homeless and in bad situations for over two years, to me that is priceless. I will never be able to thank you enough for accepting me into your shelter again, helping me through tough times more than once, and helping me in any way you all could. I am eternally grateful. I do hope to one day volunteer and help out the shelter in the way I’ve been helped so I’m sure I will see you all hopefully sometime soon. You will all be in my heart forever.
Sincerely,
Shelter Guest

Poem from Domestic Abuse Shelter Guest
” My Life
My life has been turned upside down
And now I’m on the road to recovering
The hurts-the pain-the mental anguish is almost gone
I’m stronger and healthier than I’ve ever been
I’m on the road to recovery
The staff has given me the knowledge to grow
To know the signs that will pull me doewn
They’ve taught me how to stand on my feet again
And be the person I’ve become
I’ve grown to appreciate the life that I was given
If I ever fall back into that horrible life again
They will be here to pull me back up again!
I thank each one of you
For getting my life back again
To be strong and confident once again
Staff is to be applauded for me reaching my goals”
