Internship
Description:
Prospective interns will be confronted with all aspects of the marketing
mix, including public relations and event planning. Interns will aid
in the development of fundraising materials and help coordinate special
fundraising events. In addition, interns will, under supervision,
create press releases and public service announcement for local media
outlets.

As an intern, for a non-profit organization, you will obtain vast
amounts of hands-on information pertaining to the development of
marketing and special events that can be applied to profit and non-profit
organizations. Finally, your communication and administrative skills
will be refined, helping you to become a successful marketing, business
or public relations specialist.
Specific
Expectations:
Family Services expects their interns to be responsible, professional
and respectful. Family Services expects their interns to arrive
on time in appropriate work attire. Family Services expects that
after completing the internship, all material developed and information
gathered will be released to the agency for future use.
Skills:
Candidates must be independent, innovative and self-starters. They
will possess excellent communication, computer and administrative
skills. They must be willing to take a project and complete it with
direction, but without the need for constant supervision. All candidates
must have strong interpersonal skills and be a team player. Candidates
must be willing and able to learn and to think outside the box.
Compensation:
Family Services cannot offer compensation, but will schedule hours
of internship that are conducive to other employment/educational
responsibilities.Interns will be provided office space at our administrative
offices on Broad Avenue, Altoona, and the needed supplies to complete
their projects.
