Do you…

Coming to group each week has kept me more focused on my feelings and also how my behaviors impact others around me.

I am truly beginning to realize the damage I have done, and it is imperative that I continue to work to become a better person not only for my wife / family / others but for myself!

    ~Scott

...keep your partner or children away from family and
   friends?
...tell your partner “How it is” or “How it will be?”
...
call other people names all the time?
...demand sex no matter what?
...control the money or keep your partner from having
   a job?
...tell your partner or children you will hurt them or
yourself if they talk about  what is going on?

Man Needing Help

If you answered “yes” to even one of these questions,
let us talk and see what Men Helping Men can do for you.

What is Men Helping Men?

Men Helping Men is a group for men who are or fear they may become abusive to their partner or children.  The abuse can be emotional such as name calling, put-downs, controlling, or physical like slapping, shoving, restraining...

The goal of Men Helping Men is to help you understand why your actions hurt the person you abuse.  The focus is on you and how you can change your behavior to create more healthy relationships.

Men Helping Men has been established because domestic violence is a crime in Pennsylvania.  Abusive behavior is hard to change on your own and Men Helping Men can help.

How does Men Helping Men work?

Men Helping Men meets once a week for 16 weeks.   Each session lasts for two hours, talking about:

  • How abuse affects all family members.
  • How personal beliefs about power and control can lead to abuse.
  • How to be responsible for your own actions.
  • How to handle anger and conflict without being abusive.
  • How feelings can be expressed in more healthy ways.
  • How to manage stress.
  • How drugs and alcohol affect behavior and can lead to personal and family problems.

What is the cost?

The fee depends on your financial situation. This program is not paid for by court fines
